Organ summer in Hallgrímskirkja will take place from July 3rd till August 22nd. Eight Icelandic organists will allow the magnificent Klais-organ of Hallgrímskirkja to sound at lunchtime concerts from the 3rd till the 14th of August.

Kjartan Jósefsson Ognibene will perform at the 5th concert of the Organ Summer.

Tickets are available at the door and on tix.is, ticket price is 2000 ISK, free for children under 16 years of age.

Kjartan Jósefsson Ognibene is a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (DKDM) and has just completed his BA studies in organ and church music. This autumn, he will begin master studies at the university and aims to complete his MA degree in organ and church music in the spring of 2023. He began studying piano at the age of 6 and graduated in 2012 under the guidance of Guðrún Dalía Salómonsdóttir. In the autumn of 2015, he started his studies at the National Church Music School of Iceland under the guidance of Björn Steinar Sólbergsson, Jónas Þórir Þórsson and Eyþór Ingi Jónsson. He graduated as a Church Organist in the spring of 2017 and began studying DKDM in the autumn. In Copenhagen, he has received guidance in organ playing from Hans Fagius, Monica Melcova, Yuzuru Hiranaka and Mads Høck."
